Andy Dalton singed a deal with the Bears and will likely be their starter going into week one. His 10 million contract will give the team flexibility to sign players elsewhere to support him. Dalton did post a 4-5 record with Cowboys despite how garbage the team was in year’s past. On the surface, he looks like another Mike Glennon or Nick Foles they have paraded around the past 4 years. I think Dalton is a step above those guys at this point in his career and can do enough to win games backed by their Khalil Mack led defense. He won’t take the division from the Packers with a move like this but considering they made the payoffs under Trubisky, I would say he can do the exact same.
This was not the Bears number one option this offseason as Adam Schefter went on ESPN to say Chicago made a significant offer for Russell Wilson, but the Seahawks have zero interest in trading the All-Pro QB for the time being. This is despite him giving the team a list of four franchises he would willing wave his no trade clause for. Those teams were the Las Vegas Raiders, the Dallas Cowboys, the New Orleans Saints, and the Chicago Bears. It is worth noting that the Seahawks may eventually be open to moving on from him in the future if things continue to go south.
